A Night for Caruso 2015

Also this year the fishermen’s Village of Marina Grande in Sorrento will be the splendid backdrop of the show A Night for Caruso, which will be held on Thursday June 25th 2015 and during which will be awarded by the City of Sorrento the Caruso Prize to an artist who has contributed to spread the Italian culture and art in the world. This year the prize will be awarded to Vittorio Grigolo, the more famous Italian tenor today in the world.

This prize is dedicated to the great Neaples tenor Enrico Caruso, who was the first one to bring the Naples and Italy music tradition all over the world.

On Marina Grande Beach will be equipped a big platform, where extraordinary singers and dancers will perform and will create an exciting show.

The show will be presented by Elisa Isoardi with the aid of Flavio Montrucchio and it will plan a special cast: Tullio De Piscopo, who will perform with the New Compagnia of Popular Song, which gathers musicians accompanying Pino Daniele, the unpublished couple Enzo Gragnaniello and Serena Rossi, that will perform Donna and Cu'mme, the young Neapolitan singer will interpret also Torna a Surriento, Patty Pravo, who will sing Un senso by Vasco Rossi and Les etrangers by Lucio Dalla, Attilio Fontana, who will propose his personal version of Russian by Sting and the winner of The Voice of Italy of the last year Sister Cristina, who will sing L'Essenziale by Marco Mengoni and the touching Beatiful That Way from the sonorous column of La Vita è Bella by Benigni, the actors Enzo Decaro and Gloria Guida, who we will see at work as singers in an
unpublished duet in the song Girotondo intorno al mondo by Sergio Endrigo.

The guests will alternate on the stage and they will perform live, presenting unpublished and amazing version of great hits of the italian and not only repertoire of the last 150 years.

Every year the program follows a historical-musical run and proposes a theme. This year the subject concerns the songs for the peace, or as the music represents a powerful antidote to the social tensions and an effective stimulus to the popular aggregation.

In 2015 it falls the centennial of the writing of a famous song, 'Or surdato 'nnammurato, tied up obviously to the theme of the evening and written by an author born in Sorrento, Aniello Califano. The homage devoted to this song will be interpreted by Manuela Villa, who also Amico von Renato Zero will sing.

The evening performance recorded on June 25th will be later broadcasted on Rai 1 Channel on July 4th 2015 at 9.15 p.m..
