Cleaning of the Sea Bed

The water of our marvelous sea which every year attracts tourists and visitors from every part of the world has in its bottom an innumerable number of sea kinds, which are a delight for the ones who dive or who simply observe from the surface with the mask.
But unfortunately it is also full of refusals, specially lost or abandoned fishing equipments, building or packing materials and tires which are dangerous for the health of our waters.

For this reason in Sorrento Peninsula are scheduled different events intended to the safeguard and to the exploitation of our sea patrimony. A beautiful initiative there will surely be on Sunday June 16th 2013: the Cleaning of the Sea Bed, with the purpose to  remove the on the coast recently disposed refusals till to 10-12 meters deep, therefore without the need of breathing apparatus. So not only authorized personnel but also volunteers could take part to it. All the picked refusals will be put in a waxed tarpaulin placed on the shore, they will be photographed, listed, diversified and therefore disposed.
The refusals present since years on the sea bed will be left there as now they are the  substratum for the formation of sea life and therefore part of the bottom.

This initiative is very important not only because it will be used for making aware inhabitants and tourists of the problem connected to the abandonment of the refusals along the coast, but also because in view of the summer months it will make better enjoyable stretch of coast otherwise unusable.
