Lemon Festival

Massa Lubrense is a small town at the end of Sorrento Peninsula, stretched out toward the Capri island and edged by about 20 Km of coast bathed by the two gulfs of Naples and Salerno. The precinct is crossed far and wide from a net of paths from which suggestive and enchanting panoramas are enjoyed, alternated by the sight on the typical protecting lemon groves fencings, on luxuriant olive-groves and on the typical perfumes of the Mediterranean stain.

This is the background in which from July 2th till August 28th 2013 there will be the Lemon Festival, during which the typical oval Massa Lubrense lemon said "femminiello" will be celebrated: clear peel, few seeds, proper for the production of the famous Limoncello Liqueur and used in different gastronomic recipes. There will be therefore various events in different places of the Massa precinct.

On July Saturday 20th and on July Sunday 21st the appointment is in Massa Lubrense centre, with the 39th edition of the Lemon Feast, during which it will be possible to taste the typical Sorrento products made with this dainty citrus fruit, lemonades, cakes and typical desserts and there will be two involving and spectacular exhibitions of dance and music.

On July 25th in the Gardens in the centre of Massa Lubrense at 9.00 p.m. there will be the exhibition "OLEUM ET CONVIVIUM": the olive oil among music, culture and tasting.

With these gastronomic appointments will be associated a rich exhibition of works of art inspired by the famous fruit. The show, entitled '' Ode to the lemon '' will be held from July 20th till August 4th 2013 and 30 from Campania and international artists will propose their works from the traditional photo to the digital graphics, from the sketch to the painting.

In August three appointments (on August 16th, 17th and 18th) are in calendar in Villa Angelina with the "Limon Jazz."
Villa Angelina is one of the most beautiful sites of the Sorrento Peninsula, as it offers an experience rich in culture and in beauty for its particular location that allows to have a privileged sight on the Capri island and on the whole Gulf of Naples. In this splendid location there will be 3 concerts of quality music with international artists.

The last evening of the festival there will be on August 28th in the small Schiazzano square, with the prize "The Mass Lubrense lemon" promoted by the Coldiretti: a right recognition for people operating in the agricultural and rural world who preserve the productive traditions of the territory and who turn them into tourist attraction for hundreds of Italian and foreigners visitors who every year participate in this intercompany tour.
