Sea Feast in Piano di Sorrento

On September 26th and 27th 2013 there will be two days completely devoted to the sea in the fishermen's village of Marina Di Cassano in Piano di Sorrento. It will be a real Sea Feast where tastings, music and show will enrich the Piano di Sorrento harbour with the involvement of the restaurants of the suburb and of the chefs of the alliance Slow Food.

On September 26th 2013 at 8.00 p.m. with a ticket of 15.00 EURs it will be possible to taste 5 fish-based dishes, while on the harbour the group "Red Moon Band" will exhibit, proposing songs of the Neapolitan repertoire. Besides the guests of the various restaurants will be delighted by the wandering show "A Paranz d'o lion", which will propose popular dances and music.

On September 27th 2013 at 5.00 p.m. in Villa Fondi in Piano di Sorrento it will be held the conference "The Sorrento Navy in the eighteenth century. New contributions": a day of studies on the Sorrento Peninsula Navy introduced by Francesco d'Esposito, teacher of economic history in the "G. D'Annunzio" University in Chieti-Pescara, and to which will intervene Biagio Passaro on the theme "Polacche, tartane and feluche. Neapolitan ships and merchant navigation in the eighteenth century", Maria Sirago who will discuss on the theme "Nautical Education for the regal fleet and for the merchant Navy in the first Bourbon period" and finally Pasquale B. Trizio, who will intervene on the theme "On the rout of the oil. Monòpoli and sea initiative between XVII and XVIII century."

At 8.00 p.m. in Marina di Cassano there will be a dinner with starter, first course, second course and dessert wine and water included at the charge of EURs 25.00.

It will be a beautiful feast which will prepare Piano di Sorrento town to the celebrations for the patron saint S. Michele expected on September 28th and 29th.
