Sorrento Classica 2013

From July 23rd till August 11th 2013 in the splendid set of the St. Francis Cloister in Sorrento, always appointed location for classic music in Sorrento and essential destination for Italian and 
foreign tourists visiting this town, there will be the sixth edition of the International Summer Music Festival "Sorrento Classica": 7 concerts held by artists of the concert international panorama.
The art direction is edited by PAOLO SCIBILIA who, with tenacy and sensitivity, promotes for 21 years in the Sorrento Peninsula prestigious events of classical music. Giuliana Gargiulo presents the events.

Theme of 2013 edition: The Great Simphonic, Chamber and Solistic Music, Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner (200th anniversary of birth), Nino Rota (50° anniversary of “Il Gattopardo”: 1973 – 2013).
Sorrento Classica 2013 opens on July 23rd 2013 with ORCHESTRA SINFONICA DELLA PROVINCIA DI BARI.
Follows: on July 26th, OPERA GALA', concert of the "Sorrento Opera Singer Musterclass Summer", dedicated to the Belcanto Opera and Chamber Music; on July 29th I FIATI DI PARMA, the only stable italian chamber orchestra of wind instruments; on August 2nd, IULIA MARIN, emerging romenian pianist from Romania and Music Bachelor Degree from the Manhattan School of Music – Usa; on August 4th, Michele Campanella, pianist, fine player of Franz Liszt, at the highest levels of his career, with the famous Paraphrase from the Works of Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner; on August 7th, EUGENE SKOVORODNIKOV – piano & VICTOR KULESHOV - violin, extremely harmonious duo of Russian origin; on August 11th concludes the review the ACADEMY OF SOLOISTS, the Chamber Orchestra of the State of Kazhakistan, and Aiman Mussakhajayeva - violin soloist, winner of the "Sibelius", "Tchaikovsky", "Paganini", Deutsche Grammophon Artist, alongside Vladimir Askhenazy and Mischa Maisky.

Concerts start at 9.15 p.m.. The ticket costs EUR 15.00, excluding the concert of July 26th free, and the cheaper ticket of EUR 10.00 can be bought outdoor the concert hall from 8.30 p.m.. In case of bad weather concerts will be held in the Town Hall of Sorrento or in the Sorrento Tourist Office.
