The Bay at the Bottom of the Path

According to the anthropologist Giovanni Gugg, the bay of Jeranto is the last effort made by the Sorrento Peninsula to lengthen up to the near Capri island and then to try to go over, still over, toward the horizon. It is a set apart space, inaccessible if not with work and wish and therefore a place that continues to be "far", retired, that allows the experience of the calmness, of the void, of the silence, of the distance, a place that is still a shelter, a space of liberty in the chaos of our modern way of living.

In order to discover the beauties of Ieranto Bay from June till October 2013 recurs again the "The Bay at the bottom of the Path: a series of guided visits between sea and earth in collaboration with the protected Area of Punta Campanella: Trekking, Canoeing and Snorkeling.

The earth-sea visit leaves from Nerano small square and with a trekking run of average difficulty reaches the Ieranto Bay. After a break in a farmhouse, there is a visit to the Montalto Tower and to an old quarry, a complex of industry archeology. The visit goes on in the afternoon canoeing to explore the caves and the coast; from Ieranto Bay till Punta Campanella. Afterwards, with the right water temperature, with mask and flippers, there is the visit to discover the bay sea bed and the submarine beauties.
Besides every day there are limited runs of 1 hour both by sea and by earth, to bring people closer to the theme of safeguard of Ieranto Bay.

DAYS AND TIMES:

RUN EARTH AND SEA: from June till October, Wednesdays and Sundays from 9.00 a.m. till 6.00 p.m. (groups af at least 15 people on booking also in different days)

EARTH GUIDED TOURS: from June till September, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 5.00 p.m.

CANOEING AND SNORKELING GUIDED TOURS: from June till September, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11.00 a.m., 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m..
