Blue Fish Festival

On Saturday September 27st 2014 from 7.00 p.m. on starting signal for the 27th edition of the Feast of the Blue Fish in Marina Grande, fishermen's Village in Sorrento. Protagonist will be the so called blue fish, that is mackerel, sardines and anchovies, considered an ingredient of the "poor kitchen" for its reduced cost, but in the last years revalued for its characteristics (it is a food rich in omega 3 and in calcium and very digestible).

During the evening blue fish-based dishes of the sea tradition will can be tasted. All the fish is fresh, fished in day. Before the dawn, in fact, all the fishermen and volunteers get ready to the fishing with their gullets and boats and the women and the cooks of the near restaurants are ready to welcome them to take the fished fishes and to bring them in the kitchens to prepare the dishes.

In the evening the different dishes, the desserts and the local products will be distributed in the kiosks previously prepared.

The whole result of the Feast of the Fish in Sorrento will be destined to the expenses and the maintenance of the parish temple. It is an authentic event with a genuine taste and strongly tied up to the ancient sea Sorrento traditions.

For whom want to reach Marina Grande, there will be a free shuttle service from Tasso Square to Marina Grande from 6.30 p.m..
